Welcome to Glaze, a paint your own pottery and glass fusing studio. Glaze is located in historic downtown Cedarburg, WI. We are a hands-on art studio offering 4 types of art medium.
You are welcome to come in at any time without a reservation to create a piece of art. We are extremely kid friendly so don’t hesitate to bring in the little ones. We also cater to groups of 6 or more with a reservation. Consider our very popular Birthday parties or bring in a group of friends for art therapy. Scout troops, church groups, schools and corporate team building events occur in the studio on a regular basis. The possibilities are endless.
We invite you to bring on the creativity or we’ll bring it to you!

As all good ideas begin, Glaze started as a little thought in the back of Kristina and Phil Eckert's minds.
Now in it's fourth year of business, Glaze is becoming well known as the place to go for birthday parties, bridal parties, and fun family outings in the greater Milwaukee area. As hands-on owners, Kristina and Phil are frequently in the studio after hours preparing for the next event or newest product release. There is always something to be finished, fired or fused.
Kristina can usually be found stopping by during the day with the children. As you will soon find out, the kids know just about everything there is to know about the studio. Having a little guy around, it helps to do the planning and behind the scenes work from home for now.

Kay - Marketing, graphic design work, creative - creative - creative — fantastic with children, patient with everyone, creator of calm. I must be describing Kay. She is a perfect fit in the Glaze staff. If there’s something Kay can’t do, we haven’t discovered it. In fact, she thrives at challenges and would never even think of saying: That can’t be done. You’ll find her in the studio Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The long weekends are reserved for her three boys and wonderful husband. Although you might catch her around the studio at some point during the weekend… who can really stay away from the Glaze family?
Kerri – this fabulous needs a creative outlet and a sanity break according to her application. It was a given that she would be a perfect fit in the Glaze world when she told us that she refused to grow up. As a dedicated mom to three adorable children, Kerri is one of three “dippers”. This suits her just fine, as her husband, Kevin, hangs with the kids when she is here at Glaze dipping and loading. Kerri grew up next to a kiln, so this experience is a natural fit for a daughter of a ceramics/potter. We love Kerri’s energy, smile and attention to all of the beautiful masterpieces.
Sarah - Sarah currently attends college at Marquette. She is working towards a degree in business. The Arts have always been an important part of Sarah’s life. As a former dance teacher and ceramics student her teaching and artistic abilities make her a very valuable Glazian. We try our best to accommodate her school schedule so that one day she can use her business degree to run Glaze. :) Sarah is always willing to try new ideas and learn all there is to know about the Glaze processes. There are so many things that make Sarah special but rather than list them all, why not come in and see for yourself!
Heather - Although Heather is currently on maternity leave, she still lets us know she's around with her regular visits. Mom of 4 little ones, Heather looks forward to the time when she can return to Glaze and practice what she is so good at: making people happy. She is always willing to help you out if needed. Whether it's creative advice or painting feet, Heather is willing to assist. It must be the teacher in her.
Lindsey - Lindsey became a part of the Glaze staff due to the amount of time she liked to be in the studio as a customer. We are excited to see Lindsey grow with Glaze as she's sure to be with us for many years (that is if she can fit us into her active sports and activities schedule). Lindsey attends Living Word High School in Jackson and can typically be found at Glaze during the weekends. She has become a Birthday Party Pro and we find her bright personality and cheerful smile contagious. I have yet to see Lindsey complain or refuse to learn a new concept or idea. She’s a pleasure to have around.
Andrea - Andrea is in her Senior year at Cedarburg High School. After school, you can usually find her at Glaze as our "Detailer Diva". Along with working here, Andrea is involved in track, forensics, and DECA, and enjoys hiking and painting (of course!). She is continually organizing and improving the nooks and crannies of the studio. Andrea has never turned down a request to work on a project or the chance to go on location and promote Glaze. She’s a beautiful girl, as I’m sure you have noticed, and our hopes for Andrea are to attend a college close to home so we can keep her around. Selfish, aren’t we?
Stefan - Stefan was a tremendous asset to Glaze this past summer. If you didn’t get the chance to meet him before he left for school in AZ, then stop by right after Christmas when he’ll be home for a visit and of course putting in some hours. He’s a very talented musician and you might be lucky enough to hear his music playing in the studio on occasion. He remains connected to the staff and keeps us updated on life with sunshine and warmth. Send some heat our way, Stefan!
Kari - As Glaze's naturally caffinated artist of the written word, Kari's enthusiasm is infectious. Kari does custom painting work for Glaze. There are very few custom pieces that Kari's completed that haven't awed us by her talent!
Ellie - Beautiful red hair and a bright smile to match… you must have met Ellie! She’s quickly become our resident face painter although she finds excitement in every project she’s given. When she’s not at Glaze she must be out shopping. You’ll rarely find Ellie in anything less than fun, cute and trendy! As well as being artistic, her other talent is tennis. Watch for her next year when she’s sure to go to State for the second time!
Madison- When Madison drew us a picture of "Organized Chaos" on her application, we had the feeling she would fit in with the rest of the staff. We weren't wrong. Not only is she adorable, she aims to please both her co-workers and her customers. Madison is not the type to let you down. When she commits to something she is sure to follow through. Her social network is extensive, but she remains responsible to her job even when half of Cedarburg High School stops by to say hi. As a photographer in training, she takes lots of pictures so we quickly put her in charge of glaze's facebook page. Hiring Madison was a brilliant move on our part, and we hope to keep this fun, energetic and friendly glazian around for several years! We love you, Madison!

Matt - Matt is affectionately referred to as the "skinny dipper". When he's not playing soccer he's found behind the wall tending to the kilns. We also enjoy seeing Matt on the floor as he's extremely artistic and great with customers! Matt is currently attending MSOE but he comes home when he can and helps us out when we need him to. He's become an important part of the Glaze family. Phil feels very confident leaving Matt in charge of the kiln room when we are away. That says a lot about Matt and his reliability! Matt has even trained other staff on the kiln room position. Awww, shucks Matt. What a guy…
Meredith - Having Meredith around has been a real treat. Her unlimited supply of talents continue to amaze us. She is a creative mind who likes to keep busy. She keeps up with lots of little projects that result in positive changes around the studio. While tending to her three awesome children at home, Meredith finds time to do marketing and community outreach for Glaze. She’s also willing to do “Cinderella Hours” which can range from custom painting to unclogging detailer bottles. You rock, Mere!
Amy - What is there to say about the "Ultimate A-sis-tant"... she truly is amazing. Amy keeps track of just about everything coming in and going out of the studio. If it's a Birthday party, a to-go kit , or a special order, Amy is on task. She is extremely talented at getting the perfect handprint, and if its wording you're looking for she can help with that as well. It's more than likely she is so organized at Glaze due to the many years of practice organizing her 6 children at home.
Sam - We are thrilled to have Sam around during summer and college breaks. She’s in her second year at UW Madison. Sam is terribly missed when away so having her home, even for a weekend, is a huge blessing. We give her hours when she wants them because we know our customers like her as much as we do. Sam has been with Glaze a long time and it shows when you see the amazing things she paints. She knows just about all there is to know when it comes to Glaze so it’s fun to hear her frustration when we move things around while she’s away. Sometimes we do it just to mess with her ;) Love ya, mean it!
Graham - This is a guy that comes with his own fan club. It was impossible not to add Graham to the Glaze staff. He had half the staff marketing for him. It has proven to be a great decision. Graham slid right into his position helping out customers with the Empty Bowls project. He’s a natural with children and a talented artist as well. When he’s not “dipping” behind the wall or painting a Birthday plate you might notice him out on the soccer field where he thrives as well!
Janine - Our most recent addition to the Glazian staff, Janine brings to the studio many years of teaching experience and an impeccable fashion sense. Choosing to stay home when her sons were born, Janine wouldn’t allow herself to get out of touch with the grown up world. She took control of her non-mommy time and started a career as a Cabi consultant. While assisting others in fashion selections has been a great fit, it leaves some free time in-between seasonal collections. We mutually decided Glaze would be a good place for Janine and it is! We love having her multi task in the kiln room and look forward to her help out on the floor.
Drew is always cheery and ready to help! He goes to Cedarburg High School, plays tennis, and skis. Whenever Drew works he makes our customer’s experience an amazing one. After all "Glazing is Amazing!" Drew is also quite the comic character, most often making Madison, Ellie, or Dyan bust a gut. Drew is pretty much good at everything, from birthday parties, to unloading kilns, to taking out the garbage, he has it covered. We are so happy to have Drew join our staff.
Dyan - About 3 years ago, Dyan was painting in the studio with her Mom. We told her she should work at glaze, but she was off to school in Arizona. Well, she came back and is now our fabulous full time employee! She is quoted as saying "I just want to be here as much as possible." Dyan is so full of talent. Her creativity is not limited to pottery and painting. Her artistic-ness explodes in her photography as well. She's also schooled in massage therapy, graphic design, hair design, and culinary arts. Her "jack of all trades" support her dedication to helping others. She's an extremely well rounded individual and like most artists she enjoys experimenting with new ideas and creative concepts. Dyan is our glaze glue. She connects the daytime staff to the evening and weekenders. You are sure to recognize the curly red-head by the most decorated glaze apron she wears. We have heard over and over from other glazians how much they all love Dyan. I guess that says it all right there!
Nancy – art, art and more art. Nancy comes to us with a plethora of art experience. She had been teaching, developing and motivating art students for many years. She knows how to market art, and that talent has us hooked on our newest Glazien. Nancy is a pure delight during the two days per week you will find her at Glaze. She quickly finds a solution or offers an alternative suggestion for anyone who might walk into the studio with an inspiration. We love Nancy’s rapport with customers, and we are happy she’s chosen Glaze to supplement her passionate and artist life.
